Encampment 2012 Recap
Encampment is my favorite event, and this year is no exception! Watching the busses roll in and watching as USYers find their friends is always so much fun. When we all (FINALLY!) arrived at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, we all gathered in the Chadar to watch the encampment opening video and to meet our AMAZING co-chairs! Shout out to Bradley, Adin, and Talia, who worked so hard making this encampment as wonderful as it was! Thank you guys for everything!
At encampment, every day was a new experience as we learned, had fun, and made new friends. As the week went on, our awesome divisional presidents lead us in Maccabia, Bible bowl, and Coin Challenge (props to Josh Goldstein, Yuval Yossefy, Alex Rahmanan, and Jacob Wasserman for their amazing ruach!). Over the course of the week, METNY met people like Rabbi David Levy, the international director of teen learning, and the Israel Scouts!
With all of our new and improved programs, including the “goods and services” auction for tikun olam, Israeli Dancing, Hospital Art, a hike up Ramah Mountain, and a late night Tisch run by our very own Matt Nelson, time went by very quickly!
Encampment was a blast. While I am upset that this was my last encampment, I know that it was the best one yet!
